| 嘉祐四年（1059年），苏洵、苏轼、苏辙第二次共同赴京。苏轼在此次途中所创作的诗歌作品，包含着诗人对人生有限、宇宙无穷的模糊思考与探索。这一哲学思考成为苏轼重要的人生课题之一，它起源于这一时期，成熟于黄州《赤壁赋》，而《赤壁赋》之后苏轼对待这一问题的态度发生了质的改变。这一哲学思想的发轫较为集中地体现在《南行集》苏轼诗歌的江水意象中。在此次进京途中，苏轼与江水意象二者之间实现了双重推进。 |

| Su Xun, Su Shi, Su Zhe and their whole family went to the capital in 1059. Su Shi produced lots of poems on his way, which embodied his preliminary thought of “Life is too short and the universe is eternal”. This thought has become one of Su Shi’s most important life lessons. He presented his mature thought of this idea at the end of literary writing of The Red Cliff Ode. This idea is embedded in the river image of the poem collection of Journey to the South. |
