Teacher professional standards are important guidelines for teachers" professional development and play an important role in standardizing pre-service and post-service teacher training. Against the background of the U.S. education policy, meeting the practical needs of preschool education equality and diversity development , and the latest theoretical research results, the American Association for the Education of Young Children published a new version of the Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators in the December,2019. The content includes six core standards: Children Development and Learning in Context、Family–Teacher Partnerships and Community Connections、Child Observation, Documentation and Assessment、Developmentally, Culturally, and Linguistically Appropriate Teaching Practices、Knowledge, Application, and Integration of Academic Content in the Early Childhood Curriculum、Professionalism as an Early Childhood Educator;In terms of core values and concepts, it reflect a focus on educational equity, diversity, and excellence of early childhood teachers. The new version of the standard presents new features on objectives, content, implementation, and evaluation. Analyzing the newly revised Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators in the United States ,it is an important reference for the revision of professional standards for early childhood teachers in China. |
