This paper, based on bibliometrics and knowledge mapping methods, takes the 27,172 family education research documents from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from 1949 to 2024 as the object of analysis, to sort out the stage-by-stage characteristics, research hotspots, and cutting-edge trends of family education research since the founding of New China. On the basis of quantitative analysis of literature data, combined with content analysis, a systematic review is conducted from historical background, theoretical basis, and practical factors. The study finds that family education research has gone through the stages of germination, start-up, rapid development, and in-depth development, achieving significant progress in the fields of family education theory, family education practice, ideological and political education, home-school collaboration and rural family education, and family education legislation; Law of the People’s Republic of China on Family Education Promotion, home-school-community collaborative education, family traditions and training, family education investment, rural left-behind children’s education, and related topics have become the core hotspots of current research. In the future, it is necessary to strengthen the introduction of an international perspective, focus on the dynamic analysis of family education legislation and policy implementation, so as to provide theoretical support and practical suggestions for the promotion of high-quality development of family education in the new era. |
