| Khaled Hosseini is a newly-emerged Afghan-American writer. With his first novel published,The Kite Runner, the readers began to understand the real mystical Afghanistans. The words “For you, for a thousand times over” by Hassan has impressed innumerable readers and became Amir’s last promise to Hassan’s son. At the same time, the book has a great exploring in analyzing the internal world of human beings. This thesis intends to interpret The Kite Runner from the perspective of psychoanalysis, Freud's Personality Development Theory, to explain the complex personality development of Amir in The Kite Runner. The paper is to study the reasons of distortion and imbalance of Amir's personality through the analysis of his inner psychological factors and external environment, and research how Amir completed his final personality sublimation. |
